Segregated Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Baklová, Eliška ; Chrzová, Barbora (advisor) ; Klípa, Ondřej (referee)
The thesis focuses on segregated education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which occurs at all levels of schools. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a multinational state inhabited by three constitutive nations: Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. After the war, which ended in 1995, the Dayton Peace Agreement was signed. This agreement has divided Bosnia and Herzegovina into two entities: The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, inhabited mainly by Bosniaks and Croats and The Republic of Srpska, inhabited mainly by Serbs, and the Brčko District, which is governed by entities. Each of these nations perceives their national identity, history and the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina differently. Education plays a major role in shaping national identity because it gives pupils the values of the society in which they live. The thesis focuses on the influence of conflict on education, on the creation of national identity and describes the educational system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The subject of the research are textbooks and curricula which are different for each of the constitutive nations and which reflect their diverse attitudes to the common history and state system. The thesis deals with their development in years 1995-2019 and observes how their nationally tuned content has changed.

TITLE: Psychological and Epistemological Aspects of Curriculum Design AUTHOR: Dominik Dvořák DEPARTMENT: Department of Primary Education, Charles University in Prague SUPERVISOR: Prof. PhDr. Vladimíra Spilková, CSc. ABSTRACT: The alarming trends in Czech pupils' achievement in reading, mathematics and science raised the question of quality of the Czech primary and lower secondary school curricula. A conceptual framework for analysis of the intended curriculum as a multi-level document has been devised. A review of available methods for curricular analysis is presented. The mixed method research design has been used to study the actual Czech curricular framework. Preliminary exploration of quantitative data on Czech pupils' success rates in individual items of TIMSS and PISA studies identified the "suspect" curriculum areas for the subsequent qualitative analysis. These areas (e.g. fractions in mathematics, reading literacy in language arts) were compared in past and present Czech curricula/syllabi. The international benchmarking method was used to compare Czech, English, Finnish, and U. S. curricula. The results revealed the idiosyncrasies that remain relatively stable feature of the Czech curricula. The neo-institutionalism may provide the theoretical explanation of the results of the analysis. Public awareness raising in relation to assessing the evidence and circumstances of the crime situation scam.
MICHAL, Petr
There has been a significant societal change in the early nineties in the Czech Republic which has brought many new phenomena. The increase in crime was one of the events to which modern society was not ready. Development of post-Communist society has been uneven in all aspects. The legislative process in an emerging democratic state system was poor. As a result, a specific group of people took advantage from this situation. They have exploited loopholes in existing legislation to commit a crime. This group of offenders, in search of easy profits, then committed crimes and fraud. This thesis deals with fraud as one of the statistically most spread offenses. Law enforcement and criminal proceedings document the notification of victims when deciding the case as far as possible, which allows them existing legislation. Until the last final court decision, none of the parties is certain about the outcome of proceedings. Bachelor thesis on public awareness regarding the circumstances of committing fraud conducted a survey of respondents in the age group between 30-40 years.
